Drug Uses

Nizoral is indicated for treating systemic fungal infections or for other conditions determined by your physician. Do not take Nizoral tablets for treating fungal meningitis.

How Taken

Nizoral comes in tablets to take in orally. The usual dosage is a tablet of Nizoral daily, until the infection is cured. However, your doctor may enlarge the daily dose if your infection is serious.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the Missed Dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

More Information

Consult with your doctor if your symptoms do not go away within a few weeks (or months for some infections), and/ or if the condition worsens.

Storage

Store this medication at room temperature 15–25°C (59–77°F). Keep away from children and excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom).

Warnings/Precautions

Notify your doctor if you experience symptoms of liver dysfunction, such as- unusual fatigue, anorexia, nausea and/or vomiting, jaundice, dark urine or pale stools. You will need to do biochemical testing in this case. Nizoral tablets can change your metabolism.

Possible Side Effects

Some of the Possible Side Effects are- fever and chills, skin rash, itching, dark or amber urine, fever and sore throat, loss of appetite, pale stools, reddening. If you experience any of these or any other side effects you should stop taking Nizoral and contact your doctor promptly.
