How Taken

Adalat tablets should be swallowed whole. Do not break, crush, or chew before swallowing this medication. Consult your doctor regarding the dosage suitable for your condition.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. However if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the Missed Dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

More Information

Adalat may cause dizziness or lightheadedness. These effects may worsen if Adalat is taken with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Adalat Tablets with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this drug. Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while you take Adalat Tablets. Proper dental care is important while you are taking Adalat Tablets. Brush and floss your teeth and visit the dentist regularly. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor. Adalat should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Storage

Store this medication at room temperature, between 59 –86 °F (15 –30 °C) in a tightly closed container. Keep away from heat, moisture, and light (not in the bathroom). Keep Adalat out of the reach of children.

Warnings/Precautions

Before taking Adalat, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances, if you have heart valve problems, heart failure, heart shock, heart disease, swelling of the hands or feet, a slow heart rate, low blood pressure, or fluid in your lungs, or if you have had a heart attack, if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast–feeding, if you have recently had or will be having surgery, or have recently stopped taking a beta–blocker (e.g., propranolol). Some medicines may interact with Adalat. Therefore tell your doctor of all prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement that you are taking. It is not known if Adalat passes into breast milk, therefore do not take this drug without your doctor`s approval if you are breast feeding. If you become pregnant while taking Adalat you should stop taking this drug and contact you doctor promptly. With some brands of Adalat Tablets you may notice undissolved parts of Adalat Tablets in your stool. This is normal and not a cause for concern. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to the effects of Adalat. These patients might require a lower dosage or/ and special monitoring during treatment. Adalat is not approved for use by children.

Possible Side Effects

Some of the Possible Side Effects are- constipation, dizziness, flushing, giddiness, headache, heartburn, heat sensation, lightheadedness, nausea, weakness.
